  • Random thoughts for the summer...

    I’m super excited for Lebanon.

Work is great and delightfully flexible.

Lance is moving down for the summer which brings the female/male ratio in this household to 1:1 for the first time in my life.

My life has been wonderfully crazy and confusing as of late but I’m loving it all the same.

Patience is a virtue.  And I’m working on it.

I love summertime and the meetings it brings.

    New music makes me happy.

    Audrey Hepburn movies are splendid.

Australians have the best accents ever.

That’s all for now.  Lord willing I’ll see you at Lebanon!

    Where has the time gone?

I’m really no good at keeping up this thing.  So many things have happened since I last posted: Thanksgiving, Alabama New Year’s meeting, Tyler and Traci’s wedding, to name a few of the bigger events.  It’s been a wonderful 2008 so far, just seems to be going by so fast.  I can’t even believe it’s February already.  They say time flies by faster and faster as you get older, but I’ve decided if that’s the case, I don’t want to get any older.  It goes by so fast already.  :)  And by the way, what’s up with 2008 and weddings?  I haven’t made an official count, but there are definitely over 15 planned that I know of.  Must be in the water (no offense to all the happy couples out there)! ;)   I am personally happy not to be engaged, however.  With school and an internship on my plate at the moment, planning a wedding would be more than I could handle I would imagine.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be plenty excited when the time comes… but the time has not come. haha  Anyhow, speaking of school, I have a test to study for, so I guess I better get to that.  Hope all of you out there have a wonderful week!  Blake and I have plans for the weekend, so I’m just spending the week looking forward to that! :)  Did I ever mention he was wonderful?  Because he is.

Oh…and a very Happy Birthday to Miss Sunila Barnes…soon to be Mrs. Matt Brown! :)

  • Labor Day, etc.

Well, this year Mom, Katie, and I actually went to a labor day meeting! haha   The rest of the family still made our now traditional trip up to Illinois, but we were able to sneak off at least this once. :)  Way back at the beginning of the year when we heard Fossil was holding it, we started thinking about going, and luckily it all worked out in the end!  It really was a wonderful meeting.  The preaching was excellent! And even though some were repeats for us, they were all worth hearing again!

It was so good to see everyone as well!  This could be a record year, seeing some of yall so many times with Lebanon, Harrisonville, Labor Day, and possibly New Year's!! ;)  And this was my first trip out to a meeting in Texas this year, believe it or not.  Really have to get better about that.  Anyhow, it was so good seeing everyone out there that I normally don't see that often, and meet some new friends, too!  Good times were definitely had!

We were able to caravan/road trip with the Wallaces & Sean McCallister, which was definitely a blast!  And I think we hit a couple of the best restaurants...Raising Cane's on the way up and Posados coming home! ;)  All in all it was a wonderful trip!  It's just so sad that it's the last meeting of this summer.

Speaking of summer ending...I start back to school this Friday.  Since the meeting has passed, I'm starting to get really excited about it!  Just to give you an idea of how much of a nerd I am... I passed up golfing today to go get my parking sticker and one of my books.  Blake just laughed, he knows me too well.  I did get some shopping in though, so that makes up for it right? :)

I've probably bored you to tears now, so if you've made it this far, I'll leave you with some pictures...  Enjoy!

  • Lebanon was wonderful!! The preaching was excellent, singing amazing, and good people all around.  I have to say it was one of my favorite years so far.  Lots of new faces, to me at least, and many other friends that I’ve know for a longer period of time.  It was SO good to meet all of you, and spend more time with everyone else!!  I want to give special thanks to all of the young speakers we had…I believe 14 in all.  They did a great job!  And Clint did a wonderful job coordinating it as usual!  All in all I thought the meeting went very well.  And I hope to see all of you again before next year’s meeting! :)

Some of my favorite pics from the meeting:
